I’ve never tried Elderberry Syrup.  What can I expect in my order?

Maybe you’ve heard that Elderberry Syrup is good for you, but you aren’t sure what to expect with your order.  We’ve got you covered!

Quality.

Elderberries have gained a reputation for keeping families healthy. That’s the whole reason our owner, Jenny, started this company. We exist to empower healthy families to fullness and freedom.

Our elderberry syrup is made with 6 natural ingredients—Elderberries, Aronia Berries, Raw Local Honey, Ginger, Ceylon Cinnamon and Clove.   That’s it!  We are really proud to provide such a high-quality syrup to our customers!

Quick Service and Free Shipping.

We offer free shipping with USPS Priority Mail.  Once you’ve placed your order, we get busy prepping your product.  Each jar is sanitized, labeled, and dated by our incredible team.  Because we want to provide you with the freshest product, we make our syrup many times each week and all orders ship within 3 business days.  Once it leaves our shop, it takes USPS 1-4 business days to get your package to you.

Packaging and Refrigeration.

Our shipping team is the best!  They take great care in packaging our products so you will receive them in excellent condition.  Each jar is wrapped in layers of brown paper and bubble wrap.  It is boxed and labeled by hand.  We’re on a first name basis with our Postal Carrier since we ship so many packages each day!

When you receive your syrup, we ask that you place it in your refrigerator because it provides you with the freshest product for the duration of its shelf life.  But some customers wonder if their product is safe since it can’t be kept cold during shipping.

Our syrup is certified as “non-potentially hazardous” which means that it does not create a hospitable environment for harmful bacteria to grow. The instructions to store in the refrigerator are for the purpose of quality and freshness, not safety.  Being outside of the fridge for even up to a week will not compromise the safety of our product.

Shelf Life.

Our syrup lasts 30-60 days in your refrigerator, and we always write 45 days from the day we produce the batch on our jars. We recommend using or freezing the syrup within one week past the date on your jar to ensure it doesn't spoil. Frozen syrup lasts 6-8 months in the freezer.  Some of our customers even freeze their syrup in ice cubes trays so that their daily doses are already portioned out!

Consistency and, well, Consistency.

One of the things we hear a lot is how happy our customers are with the consistency of our syrup.  Our repeat customers are happy that they can count on the same great taste and quality each time they place an order!

But one of the questions we get a lot from first time customers refers to the consistency of our syrup.  It’s called a syrup—isn’t it supposed to be thick?

We don’t use any preservatives or glucose, and the only thickening agent we use is honey. Because of this, our syrup is juice-like in consistency, rather than thick like pancake syrup.  We say it is sweet from the honey and should taste a bit like Christmas from our spices!  We are committed to providing the highest quality syrup to all of our customers, and a lack of thickness does not indicate a lack of effectiveness.  In fact, there are approximately 800 milligrams of elderberry in each tablespoon dose!

Kindness

One of our core values at The Elderberry Co. is kindness.  We treat others the way we want to be treated.  We show up every day and give our best to provide you, our customers, with a delicious, high-quality syrup.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve you.  It is one of our greatest joys.
