We’re Off to the Races! Health-Conscious Cocktails for The Derby Season

We’re in the home stretch until the most exciting two minutes in sports… The Kentucky Derby.  If you’re not from the local area, this event may not hold much significance to you, but for us, it’s an integral part of Louisville’s identity.  The city comes alive with celebrations and the enjoyment of classic cocktails.  We have the perfect cocktail recipes that will incorporate nourishing, immune-boosting ingredients into delicious “adult beverages.” So, grab your Elderberry Syrup and Immunity Tea Kit if you are ready to be a mixologist this Derby season.

Elderberry Mint Julep

  • 2 oz gin
  • 7 mint leaves
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp Elderberry Syrup
  • 3 oz Immunity Tea
  • Tonic water

Instructions: Muddle mint leaves by placing in a cocktail shaker, using the back of a wooden spoon to mash. Shake all ingredients except the tonic water in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Strain, pouring into a glass over ice. Top off with tonic water.

Elderberry Lily

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 0.5 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 3 oz Immunity Tea

Instructions: Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Strain, pouring into a glass over ice.

Elderberry Sour

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 0.75 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz Elderberry Syrup

Instructions: Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Strain, pouring into a glass over ice.
